Isaac Howlett is a British-born musician now living in Linz, Austria. He's best known as the singer/songwriter behind internationally renowned synth-pop band Empathy Test.

After successful collaborations with Bop x Subwave on Storm in a Teacup and Aesthetic Perfection on Save Myself, Isaac released his first solo single, House of Cards, in February 2024. It reached #1 on the German Alternative Chart (DAC) and #2 in the best-selling synth-pop tracks on BandCamp, with ReGen Magazine praising its "energetic, emotive layers of synth".

Isaac Howlett's second solo single, Endless Night, arrived later that year, scoring Isaac another DAC #1. US-based Synthpop Fanatic included it in their 10 Best Synthpop Songs of December 2024 and the UK's Blitzed Magazine described it as "an ethereal gem".

In April 2025, Isaac made his solo live debut with three shows in Germany. In Berlin, Reflections of Darkness wrote that Isaac's "emotionally charged synth-pop ballads immediately captivated the audience". In Oberhausen, Monkey Press commented that Isaac's "intense" set left behind "a palpable sense of anticipation".

In July 2025, Isaac released another collaboration, this time with A State of Flux. Spiralling debuted at #6 in the DAC and reached #23 (Czech Republic), #26 (Sweden) and #38 (Germany) in the iTunes Alternative Chart. At the end of the year, Synthpop Fanatic crowned the track their #1 synth-pop song of 2025, while Synth Heaven placed it at #11.

In October 2025, Isaac released third solo single, Eggshell, which debuted at #1 on the DAC. It also reached #13 (Germany), #15 (Sweden) and #31 (Spain) in the iTunes Alternative Chart. Ghosts of the Tsunami entered the DAC three weeks later, giving him two simultaneous top 20 tracks. Ghosts... later also reached #1.

Isaac began 2026 by touring Germany as main support for Covenant and Spain with Devision Redux. He will shortly release a two further singles, Something Changed and A Year Without Light.
